Andrew holds a Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Houston and a Master's in Clinical Psychology from UH–Clear Lake. He began his career as a Crisis Counselor and research assistant. He then worked as a geriatric psychology consultant before joining HopeBridge Hospital in pediatric psychology and outpatient care. After the hospital's closure, he became Lead Program Therapist at St. Joseph Medical Center. Andrew became Managing Partner at Psych Matters, while consulting for Gulf Bend Services and the City of Houston Health Department.

Cristen earned her B.S. in Psychology from Louisiana State University and her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas at Dallas. She is currently under the supervision of Andrew Mattern, LPC-S. She has previously worked at an inpatient behavioral hospital as well as a clinical research facility, working with individuals with mental health disorders across the lifespan. She approaches therapy from a collaborative and holistic viewpoint and strives to help individuals process and manage the ups and downs of life through evidence-based practices, such as CBT, ACT, and DBT.
